And so that's why on their own. And so that's why I like all of my actions are I like all of my actions are trying to support that whole trying to support that whole network versus just trying to network versus just trying to support myself and my own support myself and my own business and I think your business and I think your business. Model I don't know business. I'd love to host a tea parties. I'd love to host a tea party for you guys. I usually party for you guys. I usually don't do political stuff. I don't do political stuff. I usually don't like to touch on usually don't like to touch on anything political just cuz I anything political just cuz I understand that it polarizes understand that it polarizes people and so I told him, I people and so I told him, I said, you know the only way I'm said, you know the only way I'm gonna be able to do this is if gonna be able to do this is if you're gonna allow me to set you're gonna allow me to set some rules here that like no some rules here that like no more than 10 percent of your more than 10 percent of your time can be dedicated to your time can be dedicated to your platform. So that means 90 platform. So that means 90 percent of the time needs to be percent of the time needs to be dedicated to tea, drinking and dedicated to tea, drinking and community, and then 10 percent community, and then 10 percent of it. It's dedicated to this thing. It's like my space is only dedicated like my space is only dedicated to community and if that's to community and if that's something that you guys are something that you guys are down with come on and let's do down with come on and let's do an event and they did. It was an event and they did. It was an incredible event and they an incredible event and they were so happy with it. it's fun were so happy with it. it's fun where you had pictures on where you had pictures on Facebook or yeah, I put some I Facebook or yeah, I put some I put well, the one where I met put well, the one where I met her. She didn't come to the Tea her. She didn't come to the Tea Party. I met her at a different Party. I met her at a different event okay, but I did put event okay, but I did put pictures to Facebook we had pictures to Facebook we had about 80 people that showed up about 80 people that showed up and it was just kind of like a and it was just kind of like a round table discussion. I've you know let them do like an you know let them do like an hour long round table where the hour long round table where the campaign representatives you campaign representatives you know they were they did. They did caucus education, which you did caucus education, which you know here in Nevada, they do know here in Nevada, they do caucusing, so you know like an caucusing, so you know like an important part of their important part of their campaigning. here is empowering campaigning. here is empowering people to know how to caucus people to know how to caucus cuz caucus is a little bit cuz caucus is a little bit confusing and intimidating so confusing and intimidating so like people like will just not like people like will just not vote because they're vote because they're intimidated by the caucus intimidated by the caucus process, so they did caucus process, so they did caucus education and then they opened education and then they opened it up to a. Table and then let it up to a. Table and then let each person so there's 80 each person so there's 80 people in the room. Everybody people in the room. Everybody got introduced their name and got introduced their name and they got to express like what's they got to express like what's important to them in the important to them in the community and then the campaign community and then the campaign representatives were able to representatives were able to like address everybody's topics like address everybody's topics in relation to the campaign and in relation to the campaign and it worked out really well and it worked out really well and so I told them, I said, Hey, if so I told them, I said, Hey, if you guys liked this event and you guys liked this event and they're like yeah, we'd love they're like yeah, we'd love this. And we you know like if this. And we you know like if she goes through into the into she goes through into the into the main race, then we the main race, then we definitely do want to create a definitely do want to create a series of events and I said, series of events and I said, hey, well, I'm linked up with hey, well, I'm linked up with the network of T shops across the network of T shops across the country. so like you're the country. so like you're already set with like all your already set with like all your locations and they were they locations and they were they were just stoked but were just stoked but unfortunately, yeah how cool unfortunately, yeah how cool that would have been? Yeah. I that would have been? Yeah. I wouldn't have been great. You wouldn't have been great. You know. it's a win-win. you know know. it's a win-win. you know not only do we get to like not only do we get to like introduce to more people and introduce to more people and Associated. Like a political Associated. Like a political campaign or or some kind of campaign or or some kind of community initiative, but it's community initiative, but it's like a really viable revenue like a really viable revenue stream for small-scale local stream for small-scale local businesses. absolutely cuz you businesses. absolutely cuz you know most of the businesses know most of the businesses that benefit from all these that benefit from all these campaign dollars are like big campaign dollars are like big National corporations, you National corporations, you know, hotel chains and big know, hotel chains and big venues. they're the ones that venues. they're the ones that usually get rented out and you usually get rented out and you know the campaigns have to pay know the campaigns have to pay it's illegal for them to. The it's illegal for them to. The donation like if I would have donation like if I would have loved and wanted to host her, loved and wanted to host her, it would've been illegal for me it would've been illegal for me to donate the the rental space to donate the the rental space to them like they have to pay to them like they have to pay rent and they have to pay like rent and they have to pay like the market price. They can't the market price. They can't get a discount or something so get a discount or something so yeah, they go to the hotel down yeah, they go to the hotel down the Street and rent out their the Street and rent out their conference room for their event conference room for their event and pay them. You know three and pay them. You know three Grand when that's three Grand Grand when that's three Grand that could go to support a that could go to support a small local business which is small local business which is incredible for them. I was like, I'm not gonna just stop at like helping you just stop at like helping you guys get that in with all the guys get that in with all the tea shops in the country, but tea shops in the country, but like I think you guys need to like I think you guys need to make some men's circles and he make some men's circles and he was like what are you talking was like what are you talking about men's circles? I'm like I about men's circles? I'm like I know that like because he know that like because he agreed with me, he was like you agreed with me, he was like you know, I don't think that the know, I don't think that the Democratic Party has done a Democratic Party has done a good enough job. obviously not good enough job. obviously not if we have Biden as our our if we have Biden as our our candidate. Or I shouldn't say candidate. Or I shouldn't say ours. I'm not registered ours. I'm not registered Democrat but as the candidate Democrat but as the candidate for the party but the the for the party but the the Democratic Party hasn't done a Democratic Party hasn't done a good enough job to address the good enough job to address the whole Me Too movements. huh and whole Me Too movements. huh and I said you know it's like it's I said you know it's like it's like thin ice dress, I said. like thin ice dress, I said. But there's no one else other But there's no one else other than a strong woman to do that. than a strong woman to do that. Oh, that sounds kind of weird. but I'm sounds kind of weird. but I'm like, Yeah, I know it's a thing like, Yeah, I know it's a thing though it's like totally a though it's like totally a thing you know like having like thing you know like having like moderators just create a space moderators just create a space safe space for men to talk safe space for men to talk about the uncomfortable about the uncomfortable conversations and it doesn't. conversations and it doesn't. it's not like have to be the it's not like have to be the extremes. It could be very extremes. It could be very simple. things of like what are simple. things of like what are appropriate things that we appropriate things that we should say to our female should say to our female colleagues and what's colleagues and what's inappropriate. yeah, but I don't think any yeah, but I don't think any other politician would be bold other politician would be bold enough to do anything like enough to do anything like that. I think she would have that. I think she would have been though. It does work different in every It does work different in every country it it Priscilla just country it it Priscilla just commented how it would work commented how it would work different in every country, different in every country, something like that it would something like that it would work different, but the work different, but the solution is the same like solution is the same like creating these safe spaces for creating these safe spaces for men to be vulnerable with each men to be vulnerable with each other and to share their other and to share their stories with each other without stories with each other without judgement. it's really powerful judgement. it's really powerful and those conversations will be and those conversations will be different in every country and different in every country and every culture and those every culture and those conversations will be conversations will be different, but just the fact of different, but just the fact of having those. Would be would be really powerful so in Ecuador, really powerful so in Ecuador, I don't know what the I don't know what the conversations would be, but conversations would be, but just creating that space would just creating that space would be powerful when I lived in be powerful when I lived in Africa when I was in the Peace Africa when I was in the Peace Corps. you know everywhere I go Corps. you know everywhere I go I I cause this work. Female friends you know treated friends you know treated terribly I would you know terribly I would you know challenge the men you know, cuz challenge the men you know, cuz like I was actually more like I was actually more friendly with the men and the friendly with the men and the women just because the women just because the lifestyle of the women I didn't lifestyle of the women I didn't relate with too much cuz they relate with too much cuz they were all caring for children. were all caring for children. which you know I I was more which you know I I was more like a man than a woman in that like a man than a woman in that culture. because you know I was culture. because you know I was like work oriented I was you like work oriented I was you know. Trying to like read and know. Trying to like read and write and organize the write and organize the community and that's not what community and that's not what women did. you know it's women did. you know it's friendly with women but my day friendly with women but my day to day like my. I really a lot to day like my. I really a lot more with children and men that more with children and men that I did with the women cuz the I did with the women cuz the women were just they were women were just they were always working for their family always working for their family and their children, which is and their children, which is great. I was really inspired by great. I was really inspired by that and I think that's a that and I think that's a blessed life and if that was my blessed life and if that was my life, I've you know I would life, I've you know I would live it to its fullest as well live it to its fullest as well but I would spend I would just but I would spend I would just end up spending more time with end up spending more time with the men and the men like they the men and the men like they all said. Well, you're. So like all said. Well, you're. So like American women are like men, American women are like men, women, so you know you're a women, so you know you're a little bit of both. Here it's a lot about like what are jokes a lot about like what are jokes that are inappropriate and you that are inappropriate and you can be a bit more direct here can be a bit more direct here about it. They don't know inappropriate. They don't know that they're offensive, so that they're offensive, so someone has to let them know someone has to let them know you know, but you have to do it you know, but you have to do it in a way where you do it with in a way where you do it with love. you know let them know love. you know let them know this is coming from a place of this is coming from a place of sisterly love that like I want sisterly love that like I want you to have strong good you to have strong good relationships with others. relationships with others. Female business colleagues and Female business colleagues and also with the women in your own also with the women in your own community too, but also most community too, but also most importantly, women from other importantly, women from other cultures that may have cultures that may have different boundaries than the different boundaries than the woman of their community. It's like the small scale tea shops and small scale tea shops and whatnot. yeah awesome that that whatnot. yeah awesome that that wouldn't be something that wouldn't be something that anyone would be reaching out to anyone would be reaching out to us or that's we're just us or that's we're just studying. we're I'm studying. we're I'm multinational I mean we do you multinational I mean we do you know my I'm on the team that know my I'm on the team that does handle training, but I does handle training, but I mean honestly our company's mean honestly our company's more known as. Out for a more known as. Out for a botanical processing and decaf botanical processing and decaf and and extracts and powders and and extracts and powders how interesting. That's the future, though. That's the future, though. Yeah, I mean the market share Yeah, I mean the market share in that In that sector is in that In that sector is continuing to grow. have you continuing to grow. have you ever read the T 2030 report and ever read the T 2030 report and not check it out. Just Google T not check it out. Just Google T 2030, it it'll be the first 2030, it it'll be the first thing to come up, but it's a thing to come up, but it's a it's a report that was written it's a report that was written by form for the future, which by form for the future, which is like a non-profit economic is like a non-profit economic analyst group and they focus on analyst group and they focus on the tea industry. It's a the tea industry. It's a sustainability report, but they sustainability report, but they kinda focus on the tea industry kinda focus on the tea industry and building up kind of like and building up kind of like what will the industry look what will the industry look like in 2030. they don't say the exact they they don't say the exact they say there's five different say there's five different cases and the future will be cases and the future will be kind of a mix of of these five kind of a mix of of these five different cases and one only different cases and one only one of them involves you know one of them involves you know like growing tea for enjoying like growing tea for enjoying tea like how we enjoy teas. So tea like how we enjoy teas. So it's kind of it's it's kind of it's kind of it's it's kind of like a dark. read it has a tea like a dark. read it has a tea lover but the strongest lover but the strongest scenario. Is that like scenario. Is that like a hundred percent of tea a hundred percent of tea production is gonna go towards production is gonna go towards the extra extract industry. so the extra extract industry. so that's good for your business. that's good for your business. interesting. Yeah. it's it's an interesting. Yeah. it's it's an interesting. read. It's a interesting. read. It's a really well researched it was really well researched it was published maybe like three or published maybe like three or four years ago, so it's not four years ago, so it's not Super recent but really Super recent but really relevant. I recommend it to relevant. I recommend it to everybody to read. I think it's everybody to read. I think it's a really good read. I think a really good read. I think that the. Initiative is kind of that the. Initiative is kind of been stopped like that report been stopped like that report was written and that's pretty was written and that's pretty much all they're gonna do. I much all they're gonna do. I think there was some original think there was some original intention that there would be intention that there would be more work done around it, but I more work done around it, but I think you know, do you remember think you know, do you remember who wrote it or who who wrote it or who commissioned it or so the the commissioned it or so the the Organization that sponsored it Organization that sponsored it is a non-profit analyst group is a non-profit analyst group called for form for the future. called for form for the future. There are huge non profit and they do these types profit and they do these types of reports and kind of outreach of reports and kind of outreach work for a lot of different work for a lot of different industries. definitely not the industries. definitely not the tea industry. The tea industry tea industry. The tea industry was like a very specific niche was like a very specific niche that they decided to do this that they decided to do this report on they they usually report on they they usually look at like other economic. look at like other economic. It's it's a lot of like It's it's a lot of like economic analysts type of economic analysts type of reporting. And consulting that reporting. And consulting that they do but they're the founder they do but they're the founder of the T 2030 Initiative passed of the T 2030 Initiative passed away a couple of years ago and away a couple of years ago and so I think that's what kind of so I think that's what kind of put the stuff on the rest of put the stuff on the rest of the work cuz when they first the work cuz when they first published the report they published the report they cheating. That's it. No. It cheating. That's it. No. It wasn't. Yeah. It was a woman wasn't. Yeah. It was a woman actually also not a tea person actually also not a tea person you know. Yeah. yeah. Yeah. you know. Yeah. yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So like all the Yeah. Yeah. So like all the researchers and the writers researchers and the writers like they're not the industry like they're not the industry people. They're not people people. They're not people they're like international they're like international economic analysts. So it's economic analysts. So it's yeah. It's an interesting yeah. It's an interesting report like and and they're report like and and they're pretty spot on like if you read pretty spot on like if you read it. It's like wow. Okay, these it. It's like wow. Okay, these guys know the industry and so guys know the industry and so it is it's kind of like an it is it's kind of like an outside look into the industry outside look into the industry and making some a very strong Hypothesis about where the Hypothesis about where the industry is going to be in 10 industry is going to be in 10 years. And it's not positive. years. And it's not positive. Only one of the only one of the Only one of the only one of the five scenarios is actually five scenarios is actually positive. The rest of them are positive. The rest of them are like very negative like a like very negative like a negative to very negative and negative to very negative and so I always like to point that so I always like to point that report out to people to see how report out to people to see how serious the threat to the tea serious the threat to the tea that we love is and by that we love is and by supporting it now and supporting it now and supporting the businesses that supporting the businesses that supported you know will play a supported you know will play a huge part in keeping the huge part in keeping the industry going. I think that's good those that I think that's good those that we don't have to support all of we don't have to support all of the industry. you know if you the industry. you know if you look at the numbers of how big look at the numbers of how big the industry is and how many the industry is and how many tons of tea is currently tons of tea is currently produced, we don't have to produced, we don't have to support all of that. you know support all of that. you know just to eventually very small just to eventually very small sliver of it. I like the sliver of it. I like the artisan all you know part of artisan all you know part of the industry, but it's a very the industry, but it's a very easy to overlook that. 01 final thing I wanted to 01 final thing I wanted to bring up a stat from that bring up a stat from that report that I thought was report that I thought was really interesting is the ans. really interesting is the ans. Yeah, so there's an increase of Yeah, so there's an increase of people that are willing to to people that are willing to to try new products and new brands try new products and new brands because. Accessibility to other because. Accessibility to other products that okay, our products that okay, our research found that 30 to 40 research found that 30 to 40 percent of consumers have been percent of consumers have been trying new brands and products trying new brands and products almost half of these consumers, almost half of these consumers, which are because of the which are because of the desired brand is unavailable desired brand is unavailable while additional 1919 percent while additional 1919 percent decided to purchase cheaper decided to purchase cheaper available options of the available options of the consumers, which brands 12 consumers, which brands 12 percent expect to continue to percent expect to continue to purchase their new brands after purchase their new brands after the pandemic. So this was a the pandemic. So this was a different report. This is from different report. This is from McKenzie Which is another McKenzie Which is another consulting report. Yeah. now I consulting report. Yeah. now I know about McKenzie have you know about McKenzie have you ever worked for McKenzie? I ever worked for McKenzie? I have not but my wife non-profit have not but my wife non-profit the because that's some work the because that's some work with them and obviously I've with them and obviously I've lived in Puerto Rico. so I I lived in Puerto Rico. so I I know that some of the the harm know that some of the the harm and the good that McKenzie has and the good that McKenzie has done over there. Yeah. I mean done over there. Yeah. I mean this, I don't think that like this, I don't think that like we should look at these stats we should look at these stats as the exact things to be as the exact things to be applied to specialty tea, but I applied to specialty tea, but I think it's kind of an think it's kind of an interesting look at like interesting look at like consumer habits that can brand consumer habits that can brand loyalty and these types of loyalty and these types of things are a little bit less a things are a little bit less a little bit more off the table little bit more off the table which poses an opportunity for which poses an opportunity for new brands to come in with new new brands to come in with new messaging and new value messaging and new value offerings cuz people are kind offerings cuz people are kind of Open to new experiences and of Open to new experiences and new things. you know it is kind new things. you know it is kind of sad that you know about a of sad that you know about a fifth of these people change fifth of these people change brands because they're looking brands because they're looking for something cheaper. you know for something cheaper. you know and that makes sense cuz you and that makes sense cuz you know people are you know know people are you know economically less stable now economically less stable now and you know trying to save and you know trying to save money, but it's all it's all money, but it's all it's all the more reason to like the more reason to like reposition our products to not reposition our products to not make them. Apples to apples make them. Apples to apples because you have people are because you have people are gonna price shop now more and gonna price shop now more and more so than ever, but by more so than ever, but by creating a unique value creating a unique value proposition then You know, could people are open You know, could people are open to new experiences and open to to new experiences and open to new products more so than new products more so than before. so.
